Well, here I am just two years shy of 60. I find myself with way more weight on my body than I should have. After several conversations with my PCP, we decided I should limit carbs and sugars. Hmm... my two favorite things, bread and baked goods, and sweets.

This is going to be tough. If I'd actually cook each day this challenge would be easier, but living by myself it is so easy to fix a quick sandwich. Ah, those lovely taste carbs. And, peanut butter!

I did try my best today to be good, especially being day 1. We're mostly all good on day 1. Out of an allotted 1200 calories I had just under 300 left when all was said and done and I felt completely satisfied. Whoo hoo! My carbs and sugars were in check for that amount of calories, but my cholesterol intake was over. No, I didn't do away with all carbs, and sugar seems to be in everything. That was just too hard. I hope to do better with that as time goes on.

Maybe I'll go sit outside and enjoy an icy cold But Light to use up the remainder of my allotted calories. :)

I'll weight in tomorrow morning on my scales and use that as my start weight.

One last thing for today - as I find satisfying foods or recipes that meet my needs for healthy weight loss I'll share them here.
